In Our Hands

He came as a baby,

Hungry, needy,

Dependent in every way.

He learned

Under the guiding hands

Of his parents,

Growing into a boy,

Then a man.

The God who created the Universe,

Who carved the sphere of the Earth

With his own two good hands,

Who shaped animals and trees,

Who sprinkles snow on the mountains,

Who waves winds across the surface of this planet,

The God who formed us out of dirt

And even now

Carries our souls

In his own good hands,

Placed himself in our hands

As a baby.

He entrusted us

With his Son,

Vulnerable in every way,

Needy,

Human.

That’s why

We raise our hands

And praise the One

Who placed himself in our hands.

  1. Lovely imagery, Steph, I especially like the last line. Jesus shows such humility. Thanks for sharing.
